What are your favorite baby names and why?

Do you know there meanings?

What origins do they come from? What are your favorite baby names and why?
for girls:

Vivienne - French, meaning has to do with life. I like the name because it's really gorgeous, and I love the nicknames that can come out of it.

Cate - It's a short form of catherine so therefore it doesn't have its own meaning. I like it because it has a completely different feel than the name Kate, but it still will fit for the rest of her life.

Bellamy - It's English and Irish, but it takes its roots from French. It was originally a surname, and means "beautiful friend / fine friend". I just love the way it sounds.

Bellatrix - It's Latin. Means Female warrior. Unfortunately, due to Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter (she does happen to be a favourite character of mine, but still), I can't name a kid or character this, so I've relegated it to middle name status. I like it because while I think the nicknames Belle and Bella are really great, I like the fact that Bellatrix sounds harder than Isabella.

Cecilia / Celia: Hate the fact that in Latin it means blind one, but hey, St. Cecilia was the patron of music! I also really think the name "Cece" is cute, so that's a nickname for these longer names.

Eloise: French/English background, and means healthy. I like it because it's beautiful, and has a couple of great nicknames to go along with it: Elle, Ellie, and Lola.

Esm茅: I hate the fact that this name was popularized by Twilight, because I liked it back when I read the Lemony Snicket series, and when I found out it had other literary pedigrees. In French, it has the meaning of beloved and esteemed, whereas the Persian version has the meaning "emerald."

Paloma: It's Spanish, and means Dove. I used to hate the idea of this name, but then I heard it said a bunch of times -- I watched Australia's Next Top Model season 3, and there was a Paloma in it -- and began to fall in love with it.

Roux - In French, it means reddish-brown. Nothing special. But I love this as a middle name, and it's also the name of Johnny Depp's character in the film Chocolat!

Madeleine - It means High Tower in French, and although I've always hated the name Maddie on its own, for some reason, I've recently started adoring this name. It's also the name of a type of French cookie, and is very tasty.

Rosalie - It's the French version of Rosalia, and yes, I do know this was used in Twilight, too. I hate Twilight, but honestly, the woman picked out good names for the most part -- names that I've liked for ages. I think it's extremely pretty.

Violet - Latin, and of course, it refers to the flower and the colour. I think it's gorgeous. Old fashioned, but coming back into style, and a bunch of YA series -- most notably A Series of Unfortunate Events -- and a few movies -- The Incredibles, for instance -- have a Violet.

Isabelle / Isabel / Isobel - I hate the meaning for this name, because it means "pledged to god" and I, unfortunately, happen to be an athiest. But regardless, I think it's such a nice name, and has given birth to the nicknames Belle Bella, and Izzy -- all of which are extremely adorable.

Luciela - As far as I know, this name does not actually exist in babyname indexes. But I saw it once in a series, and I loved it. It's pretty. It's unique but it isn't crazy. And LOOKS like a real name.

for boys:

Byron - Unfortunately, it means Barn for Cows. Lame. But I happen to like the name because of the famous poet Lord Byron. It's a really nice alternative to Brian, in my opinion.

Cillian / Killian - It means strife or war, and is of Irish origin. I love this name, partially because of the fact that every time I hear it, it reminds me of the EXTREMELY attractive Irish actor Cillian Murphy. I fluctuate back and forth with the spelling I prefer, though.

Cullen - Like Cillian, but somewhat different, it is an Irish surname that means "puppy" or "cub". I happen to really enjoy Irish male names, and this is one of my very favourites, again, despite the Twilight reference.

Charles - Yeah. It's kind of traditional. It has variations in all different regions, and generally means "free man", but each language is slightly different. I happen to like it because I know someone named Charles, and the association has stuck with me and made it one of my top faves. A good point to make would be that I actually PREFER not to use nicknames with this one.

Maxwell - means "great stream" and is of Scottish origin. I prefer the full name Maxwell to the diminuitive Max, but both are nice.

Brice / Bryce: A Celtic or Welsh name meaning either "freckled" or "bright strength". It's actually an old saint's names, though in pop culture you typically see the name bryce as being somewhat of a bad boy, like in the TV series Chuck.

Sullivan - It's an Irish surname meaning "dark eyed." It's also the last name of one of my idols. It is my absolute favourite male name, and without a doubt will be the name of my son if I ever have one.
