My thoughts on the names:

rating 1-bad 10-great

Gemma - is very popular where I live and it's a okay name it means gems and the most obvious nickname would be Gem 6.

Leah - this is very nice also popular my little cousin name I like it it's really cute too the name means weary nickname maybe Lea 8.5.

Scarlett - my fave on your list it's beautiful so cute, classy, romantic i love this name so much and it's own my fave list it basically means red I wouldn't shorten the name because it would be either 'Scar' or 'lette' both bad also not all names need nicknames and this is just prefect 10.

Lauren - I like this name I mean it's okay nicke Laure would be the nickname I feel more likely it wouldn't be shortened it means laurel 7
